You may be wondering how to win at pageants. Pageants are competitive events in which participants show off their physical assets in the hopes of winning a title.
You can compete in pageants in many ways.
She's got the looks, she's got the talent. So who will win the pageant crown? These are the negativity by which pageants go through while competing with each other.
Here are five ways to win at pageants:
Develop a strong body type.
Although it might sound like a bad thing to say, you want to look good in a swimsuit. Not only do you want to make sure you look good in a swimsuit, but you also want to make sure that your body type is attractive — and not too skinny or too fat — for when you actually show up in the swimsuit portion of your pageant dress. Wear the right outfit and accessorize appropriately. If your physical assets are similar to those of the other contestants, you'll stand out enough to make an impression. If not, don't try to outdo them by wearing something too revealing or too revealing for your age.
Be prepared for stage fright.
Some contestants might get nervous before they step on stage during beauty pageants. No matter how hard you try to prevent it, sometimes stage fright is unavoidable; however, with some practice and training, many girls can overcome their nerves and keep their cool during and after their performance so they can leave with the crown and the title of "Miss America."
Practice getting dressed and putting on makeup so that when you actually do perform in front of judges, judges will be impressed — not just by your beauty — but by your confidence and poise as well…
Be prepared to say a few nice things about your competitor.
Pick something they said about themselves and then reflect back on it — maybe they said that they were always late — and then say how much you appreciate that because you're always late, too! It's a nice way to let them know that you're listening and that you're willing to work with them and be a team player (and, yes, this works even if they are very late).
Act like a legitimate winner before you step on stage.
Work on your makeup, do some stretches, practice your smile in front of the mirror so it's ready when you walk into the room where they are judging everyone else for who wins! You don't have to be perfect all the time, but it helps if you don't look like you just fell out of bed. Dress in a way that makes people want to vote for you so they can see how beautiful they are without having to say anything! Figure out what would have made me feel most confident coming onto stage as a shy little country girl from Indiana? I think it would have been if I would have worn my hair up in an elegant bun with my dress showing off my long legs!
If you're looking to improve your chances of winning, try one of these five techniques.
Pageants are all about beauty, but there’s also something to be said about the art of the pageant. Believe it or not, the contestants who win the crown are often the ones who have learned how to market themselves in clever ways throughout the competition. Here are five easy ways you can learn how to market yourself for pageants:
Learn how to market yourself in your head. Think about what you think is important when it comes to pageant events, and be sure to include some of those things in your marketing plan. You might decide that a good picture of you is more important than a good speech, but make sure you include both components in your marketing plan.
Learn how to market yourself with a blog. This is a great way to show off your personality and let everyone know what kind of person you are through your writing. Blogging on a popular platform like WordPress or Tumblr can help with that because people will be able to keep track of everything you put on your site and come back for more.
Get a sponsor. Once you get on the pageant circuit, it’s hard to stay out there without some kind of support from someone who likes what you have to offer. By getting a sponsor, this person will be able to help spread the word about all of the things you do so well during Pageant Week. Why not ask a friend or family member if they wouldn’t mind being your sponsor? It could even turn into something more intimate — maybe they’d want to get involved with training or coaching ideas for when they get back from work each day.
Make yourself stand out by helping others stand out too! It might sound very cheesy, but sometimes we need some inspiration when we really want something — and we don’t always realize we need it until someone else says it first! Helping others reach their own goals is one way you can make yourself stand out.
